Brazil and the Olympics

The actions of Brazil are pretty similar to Mexico City when Mexico bid for the 1968 Olympics. Read this article from the NYTimes and consider the characteristics of the four finalist cities. In the comment section, predict the winner of this Friday's vote and provide one good reason why that city will win. Include your first name and last initial at the end of your comment.

I think rio will probably win their bid. They seem to have the leaders who want it most, the others seem a bit apathetic. The ioc is probably looking for that kind of emthusiam.

I think chicago is going to win the bid because of all the publicity from Obama's election. Althouh rio's reputation is getting better, it did not come through for the pan America games.

Rio because brazil has never hosted the olympics and it seems it has a lot to offer. It also has a lot of support. Katri g.

I think Rio will win because they have been snubbed in the past and deserve the opportunity. Chicago won't be chosen because then it would seem like a popularity contest. Victoria T
